Purpose:
I needed to fix a failed attempt by a vendor to provide a working interactive history wall. This wall needed to depict the beginning of the company in 1978 through the present time with the ability to adjust content as the years progress. The movement of the viewer or experiencer's location needed to trigger a dropdown graphic for any particular year at several locations along the timeline. This dropdown graphic provided images and text for the year. At the same time, create an interactive event that creates a colorful noise-based matte using FLIR's thermal color palette named "ironbow".
Challenge:
Find a low-cost yet stable solution to achieve the quality and functionality of the original scope. We reused a majority of the hardware, resulting in constraints for the new design team.
